Damcyan & Antlion Cave
Walk north on the overworld from the Underground Waterway to trigger a cutscene. Damcyan Castle has been bombed by the Red Wings. 10 chests and 3 hidden items sit inside the ruins, then it’s straight to the Antlion Cave for 13 more chests and the Sand Ruby needed to save Rosa.
Damcyan Castle
Ten chests and three hidden items across the jail and three floors, plus a party swap on 3F.
Before entering through the main gate, walk one tile south from the entrance and follow the east wall around the castle exterior. A small door leads to the jail area.
Jail Secret Passage
Inside the jail, interact with the wounded guard on the floor. Once he passes, hit the switch on the wall behind him to open a secret passage. Push through the walls on the other side to reach three chests holding a Crossbow, Feathered Cap, and Ruby Ring.
Jail B1
Take the stairs in the bottom-left corner of the jail down to a room packed with loot. Six chests line the room in two rows, plus three hidden items in pots:
- Top row chests: Potion, Antidote, Eye Drops
- Bottom row chests: Ether, Phoenix Down, Gold Needle
- Bottom-left pot: Elixir
- Top-right pot: Holy Arrow
- Bottom-right pot: Iron Arrow
Elixirs are rare and worth saving for a tough fight later.
Backtrack to the castle entrance and head inside.
1F to 2F
The path through the main castle is straightforward. On 2F, grab the Tent from the chest in the northeast corner. That’s everything for Damcyan: 10 chests and 3 hidden items collected.
3F
Walk into the north room for the story. After the cutscene, a scripted battle plays out. Tellah leaves the party and Edward joins in his place. You also receive the Hovercraft, which can cross shallow rocks in the sea.
Board the hovercraft and travel northeast from Damcyan. Cross the shallow rocks east, then go south along the coast to find the Antlion Cave entrance.
Antlion Cave
New Enemies
Thirteen chests sit across two floors plus a rest area, with five new bestiary entries to register on the way down. Two to handle carefully:
- Yellow Jelly: physical hits glance off its hide; lean on Rydia’s Black Magic (Lightning is its weakness)
- Basilisk: can petrify with its gaze, so keep Gold Needles handy
B1
From the entrance, turn left and cross the west bridge. Open the chest on the left for Spider’s Silk, and the one under the bridge for a Potion. Walk south and then east for two more: Tent and Potion. Loop back north (don’t go up the stairs) and continue east, then north under the bridge for another Potion. Backtrack south and east to the stairs. Climb up and open the chest for a Gold Needle. Now walk all the way south and descend to B2.
B2
Walk south to find a chest and a door. Grab the Antarctic Wind first, then go through the door for the Lamia’s Harp. Equip the Harp on Edward right away; it has a chance to confuse enemies on hit. Exit the room and walk east, then north. Open both chests at the northeast and northwest corners for Spider’s Silk and a Potion. Take the nearby stairs up.
Rest Area
Through the door you’ll find a save point and three final chests: Emergency Exit, Ether, and Phoenix Down. That’s 13/13 for Antlion Cave. Exit the room, drop back down to B2, and walk west then south through several stairways to reach the Antlion Nest at the bottom.
Heal and quick save before stepping into the Antlion Nest.
How to Beat Antlion
You receive the Sand Ruby after the fight. Leave the dungeon on foot or use the Emergency Exit from the chest above to warp out instantly.
Return to Kaipo
Board the hovercraft and retrace your route: north from Antlion Cave, west through the shallow rocks to the Damcyan area, then southeast and south through another set of rocks to reach Kaipo.
Enter the northeast house where Rosa is staying. Approach the bed and use the Sand Ruby to break her fever.
Rosa joins the party as a White Mage with Cure and the Aim command for ranged attacks. She learns Life at Lv 11, Protect at Lv 12, and Cura at Lv 13. Equip her with your best spare gear and put her in the back row.
That night, Edward wanders outside alone and a Sahagin attacks him in a forced solo battle. Use Attack while Anna’s spirit speaks; the fight ends automatically when the scene finishes. The next morning you regain full control. Update Rosa’s equipment, restock at the shops if needed, then leave Kaipo and board the hovercraft. Mt. Hobs is northeast of Damcyan, past the shallow rocks.
