Head north on the overworld to trigger a cutscene. Damcyan Castle has been bombed by the Red Wings. Ten chests and 3 hidden items sit inside the ruins, then it's straight to the Antlion Cave for 13 more chests and the Sand Ruby you need to save Rosa. The whole stretch ends back in Kaipo with two new party members.
Damcyan Castle
Jail. Before entering through the main gate, walk one tile south from the entrance and follow the east wall around the castle exterior. A small door leads to the jail area. Inside, interact with the wounded guard on the floor. Once he passes, hit the switch on the wall behind him to open a secret passage. Three chests on the other side hold a Ruby Ring, Feathered Cap, and Crossbow (33-35/342).
Jail B1. Take the stairs in the bottom-left corner of the jail down to a room packed with loot. Six chests line the room in two rows. Top row: Potion, Antidote, Eye Drops (36-38/342). Bottom row: Ether, Phoenix Down, Gold Needle (39-41/342). Three of the pots also contain items: Elixir in the bottom-left pot (11/54), Holy Arrow in the top-right pot (12/54), and Iron Arrow in the bottom-right pot (13/54). Skip the top-left pot. Backtrack to the castle entrance and head inside.
1F-2F. The path through the main castle is straightforward. On 2F, grab the Tent from the chest in the northeast corner (42/342). That's everything for Damcyan: 10 chests and 3 hidden items. Head upstairs to 3F.
3F. Walk into the north room for the story. Anna dies in Edward's arms while Tellah rages. After the cutscene, a scripted battle plays out. Tellah leaves the party. Edward joins in his place. You also receive the Hovercraft, which can cross shallow rocks in the sea.
Antlion Cave
Board the hovercraft and head northeast from Damcyan. Cross the shallow rocks east, then go south along the coast to find the cave entrance. Five new bestiary entries inside, and Yellow Jelly is essentially immune to physical damage.
B1. From the entrance, turn left and cross the west bridge. Open the chest on the left for Spider's Silk, and the one under the bridge for a Potion (43-44/342). Go south and then east to find two more: Tent and Potion (45-46/342). Head back north (don't go up the stairs) and continue east, then north under the bridge for another Potion (47/342). Go back south and east to the stairs. Climb up and open the chest for a Gold Needle (48/342). Now head all the way south and descend to B2.
B2. Go south to find a chest and a door. Grab the Antarctic Wind first (49/342), then go through the door for the Lamia's Harp (50/342). Equip this on Edward right away; it has a chance to confuse enemies on hit. Exit the room and head east, then north. Open both chests at the northeast and northwest corners for Spider's Silk and a Potion (51-52/342). Take the nearby stairs up.
Rest area. Through the door you'll find a save point and three final chests: Emergency Exit, Ether, and Phoenix Down (53-55/342). That's 13/13 for Antlion Cave. Save your game here. Exit the room, go back down to B2, and head west then south through several stairways to reach the Antlion Nest at the bottom.
How to beat Antlion
The Antlion has 1,100 HP and counters all physical attacks, but the counter damage is negligible at this stage. Have Rydia summon Chocobo every turn while Cecil and Edward attack normally. Edward's damage barely registers either way, so you can also have him throw Potions if anyone needs healing. The fight should be over in a few turns.
You receive the Sand Ruby after the fight. Leave the dungeon on foot or use the Emergency Exit to warp out instantly.
Return to Kaipo
Board the hovercraft and retrace your route: north from Antlion Cave, west through the shallow rocks to the Damcyan area, then southeast and south through another set of rocks to reach Kaipo. Enter the northeast house where Rosa is staying and use the Sand Ruby.
Rosa joins the party after the cutscene. She's a White Mage with Cura and the Aim command for ranged attacks. Equip her with the best gear you have and put her in the back row.
That night, Edward wanders outside alone. A Sahagin attacks him in a forced solo battle. Just use Attack until Anna's spirit finishes speaking and the fight ends on its own. But the next morning you'll have full control again. Update Rosa's equipment, restock at the shops if needed, then leave Kaipo and board the hovercraft. Mt. Hobs is northeast of Damcyan, past the shallow rocks.
