Step on the Devil's Road warp pad in Mysidia to teleport back to Town of Baron. This chapter is loot-heavy: 3 chests in town, 8 in the Old Waterway, and 15 more inside Castle Baron.
Town of Baron
Exit the Devil's Road building and head to the inn. Rest if needed, then go upstairs to the bar. Talk to Yang at the table to trigger two consecutive fights.
The first round is two Baron Guards (280 HP each). They counter physical attacks with Mini, so lead with magic. The second fight is Yang himself. Hit him with Tellah's Thundaga or Blizzaga and Palom's Twincast for massive damage, but keep your HP high. Yang's Kick hits the entire party and can chunk you if you're not ready. After both fights, Yang rejoins the party and you receive the Baron Key.
Leave the inn and use the Baron Key on the locked door to the weapon and armor shop in the north part of town. Inside the shop, head to the bottom-right corner and push south to reveal a secret passage. Two chests behind the shops hold Zeus's Wrath and 2,000 Gil (72-73/342). Buy Thunder Rods (700 Gil) for Palom and Tellah, Silver Armlets (650 Gil) for your mages, and a Kenpo Gi (4,000 Gil) for Yang if you can afford it.
Exit the shop and use the Baron Key on the locked western building. Before going downstairs, walk east along the wall to reach a chest with 1,000 Gil (74/342). That's all 3 town chests. Head down the stairs.
Old Waterway
Six new bestiary entries and 8 chests across four floors. The dungeon is full of hidden passages; some are needed for progression and others lead to treasure.
B4. From the entrance, head south to the bottom of the room. Three chests sit together: Hi-Potion, Ether, and Zeus's Wrath (75-77/342). Go north and follow the linear path across the bridges. Take the stairs up.
B3. Take the stairs down to the water, then head south through a secret passage in the wall. Open the chest for an Hourglass (78/342). Continue south through another secret passage for Spider's Silk (79/342). From that chest, stand one tile below the stairs and push right to find a tricky hidden passage. Follow the path to the eastern part of the room. Go north past the first waterfall and push left into the rocks for yet another secret passage. The chest here holds Hermes Shoes (80/342). Backtrack east and head north to the next floor.
B2. Head north up the long staircase but stop before the door. Push left into the wall to find a hidden passage leading to an Ether (81/342). Go back and through the door.
B1. Enter the room on the left for a save point and one last chest. Push through the passage on the right side of the room to find the Ancient Sword (82/342). That's 8/8 chests for the Old Waterway. Save, then exit and head up the stairs into Castle Baron.
How to beat Baigan
Head west through the castle basement, south, and up the small stairs to the courtyard. Visit Cecil's room at the top of the west tower to restore HP/MP for free. Then enter the eastern building and make your way into the main hall. Baigan offers to join your party, but it's a trap.
Baigan has 4,444 HP and two arms (444 HP each). Cecil and Yang should focus physical attacks on the body while Porom handles healing.
After the fight, head east up the stairs to the roof. Continue right to find a previously guarded area. Hit the switch below the left torch to open a secret passage leading to six chests: Ether, Ether, Unicorn Horn, Unicorn Horn, Phoenix Down, and Phoenix Down (83-88/342).
Backtrack and exit through the bottom door. Head north and enter the East Tower.
East Tower 1F. Four chests here: Bacchus's Cider, Hermes Shoes, Bacchus's Cider, and Hermes Shoes (89-92/342). You'll need to take the stairs down and come back up to reach the leftmost chest. 2F. Two Hi-Potions (93-94/342). 3F. Check the pot below the staircase for an Ether (19/54), then open three chests: Ether, Tent, and Tent (95-97/342). Take the stairs all the way down to B1 and check the middle pot on the left side for an Elixir (20/54). That's everything: 15 castle chests and 2 hidden items.
Head back to Cecil's room to heal, then proceed north to the throne room.
How to beat Cagnazzo
Cagnazzo has 5,312 HP. He occasionally retreats into his shell to charge a water attack; hit him with lightning during this phase to interrupt it. Cecil and Yang attack physically, and Porom keeps the party healthy.
After the battle and the cutscenes that follow, Cid joins the party and you receive the Enterprise airship. The airship opens up the entire overworld for exploration.
