Moon and Crystal Palace
Board the Lunar Whale and interact with the crystal to fly to the Moon.
Land northwest of the Crystal Palace. Enter the southwest cave (Western Lunar Path). Head north to a split, then east for a monster chest: 2 Eukaryotes and 2 Prokaryotes. Reward: Golden Apple (296/342). Back at the split, go north. Before exiting, grab two chests on the right: Lunar Curtain and Stardust (297-298/342). Exit north.
Follow the path southeast to the Eastern Lunar Path. Nothing inside; just pass through. Head northwest to the Crystal Palace. Register the Lunar Virus bestiary entry outside. Inside the palace, use the tiles on both sides to restore HP and MP. Enter the middle room for a cutscene. FuSoYa joins the party as a Lunarian mage. Exit the palace.
Cave of Bahamut
Return to the Lunar Whale and fly east to a cave surrounded by a circular ring. Four chests hold the complete Genji set, but three Behemoth fights guard the path.
B1. Head south past the split for Genji Gloves (299/342). Back at the split, head east and push right at the top of the rock formation for a secret passage. Follow it to Genji Shield (300/342). Go south to the stairs.
B2. Head east then north for Genji Armor (301/342). Continue east past the wizard for Genji Helm (302/342). Equip the full set on Cecil. Heal up, quick save, then talk to the wizard for a Behemoth fight. Two more Behemoths wait on B3 before the boss.
How to beat Bahamut
Bahamut has 45,001 HP and counts down to Mega Flare, which deals 9,999 damage to anyone without Reflect. Cast Reflect on all party members using Rosa and FuSoYa before the count reaches zero. Mega Flare bounces back for 9,999 free damage. Between countdowns, spam Leviathan with Rydia and Attack with Cecil and Edge. Repeat until dead.
Rydia learns the Bahamut summon. Visit Hummingway Home (south of Crystal Palace) and buy Sirens (3,000 Gil each). Stock up to 99 if you can afford it; you'll need them for bestiary farming and the Pink Tail grind later.
Giant of Babel
Return to the Blue Planet via the Lunar Whale. The Giant of Babel cutscene triggers automatically.
Chest of the Giant. Head south then west for a Shuriken (303/342). Continue south for a Hi-Potion (304/342) and east for an Ether (305/342). Go up the stairs north, then west for a Siren (306/342). Head northeast for a Yoichi Arrow (307/342). Step on the blue pad.
Stomach of the Giant. Head up the stairs for a Silver Apple (308/342). Back at the pad, go northeast for a Soma Drop (309/342). Head south, then north through the middle path to the next pad.
Inner Path. Head south then east. The chest halfway along is a monster chest: Last Arm (9,500 HP). Its only attack is an incurable Stop spell, so blast it fast (the save point is just ahead). Reward: Elixir (310/342). That's 8/8 chests; continue east and up the stairs. The save point and shop are to the west. Head north to the pad.
Stairwell of the Giant. Farm Mech Dragon here before going up. Stay near the pad and fight until it spawns. It doesn't appear via Siren, so you need natural encounters. Walk up the stairs when ready.
The Elemental Lords rematch triggers first. You'll fight all four Fiends in sequence: Scarmiglione (Fire), Cagnazzo (Thunder), Barbariccia (Bio/Bahamut), and Rubicante (Ice when cape is open). Meter your MP to last all four phases. After the fight, heal at the save point and return. Continue north along the path to trigger a cutscene.
How to beat CPU
The CPU has 30,000 HP with two nodes: Attack Node (3,000 HP) and Defense Node (3,000 HP). Kill the Defense Node first, then focus the CPU. Leave the Attack Node alive. If both nodes die while the CPU lives, it casts Object 199 twice (killing two party members) and revives both nodes. Physical attacks only on the CPU since it casts Reflect on itself.
FuSoYa leaves the party after the cutscenes. Kain rejoins with strong gear equipped. You're automatically sent to the Moon.
Post-Giant cleanup
Head back to the Blue Planet. Fly to Castle Baron and head to the East Tower basement (B2). The game autosaves. Approach the throne.
How to beat Odin
Odin has 20,001 HP, is weak to Lightning, and gives you exactly one minute. If you don't kill him in time, he wipes the party. Attack with Cecil and Edge, Jump with Kain, summon Bahamut with Rydia, and cast Holy with Rosa. The fight should end in under 30 seconds with good damage output.
Three Tile Peninsula
Fly to the underworld and land on the strip of land south of the Sylvan Cave. Use Sirens to force encounters. Five bestiary entries spawn here, including the rare Yellow Dragon. Green Dragon only hatches from Mystery Eggs; use a low-damage attack to hatch them instead of killing the egg outright.
Visit the Cave of Summons (turn off encounters with R3) and make your way to the Land of Summons. Check the bookshelves in the weapon shop for a Grimoire (52/54) and the armor shop for another (53/54). Then head to the Sylvan Cottage and check the bookshelf by the bed for the last Grimoire (54/54). That's all 54 hidden items collected.
Hidden summons (optional)
Four hidden summon items drop from specific enemies. Each has an extremely low drop rate, so use Sirens to force encounters and be prepared for a long grind. This can also be done post-game if you'd rather push through the story first.
Mind Flayer. Fly to the overworld and land near Troia. Walk to the Chocobo Forest south of the castle and ride the Black Chocobo east over the water to the Magnetic Cavern island. Use Sirens inside the cave to force Mind Flayer spawns.
Goblin. Fly to Baron and use Sirens on the overworld to force Goblin encounters.
Cockatrice. Fly to the Mysidia area and use Sirens on the overworld to force Helldiver encounters.
Bomb. Fly to the Moon and enter the Western Lunar Path. Dark Grenades spawn here naturally; Sirens won't work for this one.
Once you have all four items, use each one to teach Rydia the corresponding summon. Collecting all four unlocks the Completion trophy.
