Shops - Final Fantasy 4
Final Fantasy 4 Pixel Remaster has shop hubs in 14 towns, listed below in story-progression order. Inventory is fixed at first visit and stays the same for the rest of the game. Most towns run separate Weapons, Armor, and Items shops; magic doesn’t go through shops in FF4 (every spell is learned automatically as characters level up), so there’s no FF1 / FF3 magic-scroll vendor.
The three shop stops worth planning routes around:
- Mythril stocks the full Mythril gear line (Sword, Knife, Hammer, Staff, plus Armor / Helm / Shield / Gloves). It’s the dwarven smith stop after the Magnetic Cavern, the first major restock after the Baron-era basics.
- Tomra sells the Diamond set (Armor 30 DEF, Helm, Gloves, Shield, Armlet) plus the Gold Hairpin. Its blacksmith also forges the Adamant Armor from a Pink Tail drop, the highest-defense body piece in the game.
- Hummingway Home is a one-shop side stop, and the only place that sells the Bestiary, Gysahl Whistle, and Siren key items. Easy to skip if you don’t already know it’s there.
Other stops worth flagging: Land of Summons sells the late-game whip line for Rydia plus the Aegis Shield and Light Robe; Town of Troia runs a Pub that sells the Membership Pass required for the Dancer-room sidequest; Giant of Babel has a one-time supply shop tucked into the dungeon.
