Summons - Final Fantasy 4
There are 15 summons (Eidolons) in Final Fantasy 4 Pixel Remaster, all cast by Rydia. They split four ways: 5 are Rydia’s default loadout when she rejoins as an adult (Chocobo, Mist Dragon, Shiva, Ifrit, Ramuh); 5 are story boss fights (Titan, Asura, Leviathan, Bahamut, plus the missable Odin); 4 are teaching items used in battle to learn the summon (Goblin, Bomb, Cockatrice, Mind Flayer); and Sylph is an optional sidequest pickup at the Sylvan Cottage.
The three summons worth planning around:
- Bahamut (60 MP): Rydia’s strongest summon and the highest non-elemental damage in the game. Won by defeating Bahamut in the Cave of Bahamut on the Moon.
- Odin (45 MP): instant-death sword strike on every enemy. Missable. Fight him at the Castle Baron East Tower B2 throne after the Moon Bahamut arc. Skip the fight and Odin’s gone for the run, along with the Summon Master trophy.
- Sylph (25 MP): hybrid attack-heal that drains an enemy’s HP and splits it across all allies. Use the Frying Pan on a comatose Yang at the Sylvan Cottage; easy to miss entirely.
MP cost is the flat per-cast charge. Damage on elemental summons scales with Rydia’s INT; Mist Dragon and Bomb scale with the caster’s current HP. Asura randomly casts one of Curaga, Protect, or Life on the whole party (weighted toward Curaga). Cross-check the magic page for which characters can cast each summon.
