Missables Guide - Final Fantasy 4


Final Fantasy 4 Pixel Remaster’s missables are concentrated in three one-time dungeons plus a few story-locked windows. The cutoffs are concrete: Tower of Zot vanishes after the Rosa rescue, the Giant of Babel locks the moment you trigger the CPU fight, and several Tower of Babel floors lose their enemies between revisits as the story progresses. Everything else (Sylph, the Sylvan Cave teaching items, Pink Tail farm, Adamant Armor trade, the Odin fight at Castle Baron) stays available in the post-credits save where the Lunar Whale parks at the Crystal Palace.

One-time dungeons

These dungeons seal permanently when their boss fight or story trigger fires. Every chest and bestiary entry inside has to be cleared before the cutoff.

Tower of Zot

  • 6 chests
  • 10 bestiary entries (Puppet, Sorceress, Black Knight, Centaur Knight, Gremlin, Soldieress, Puppeteer, Ice Lizard, Cold Beast, Hell Turtle)

The tower vanishes after the Rosa rescue on 6F. The enemies above only spawn on 1F-2F, so do a few extra encounters down there before climbing higher.

Giant of Babel

  • 8 chests (5 in Chest of the Giant, 2 in Stomach of the Giant, 1 in Inner Path of the Giant)
  • 7 bestiary entries (Beamer, Centaurion, Mech Soldier, Searcher, Last Arm, Giant Soldier, Mech Dragon)

The Giant of Babel collapses once you trigger the CPU fight. Mech Dragon only spawns in the Stairwell or when a Searcher calls for backup, so engage Searchers and let them call before killing them.

Story-window bestiary entries (Tower of Babel)

The Tower of Babel stays accessible across multiple visits, but specific floor groups lose their enemy pool when story triggers fire. Sweep each group during the listed window.

Tower of Babel - Underworld, 1st visit (5 entries)

These enemies and chest battles only appear during the Cid airship arc. Once you clear 8F, the Underworld lower section reshuffles.

Tower of Babel - Overworld (Rubicante fight window, 6 entries)

These spawn on B1-B5 during the Rubicante chase. Locked when you trigger the Rubicante fight on 5F.
