Trophy Guide - Final Fantasy 3

Final Fantasy 3 Pixel Remaster has 31 trophies, with 4 Gold trophies missable: Field Research - Professional, Legendary Treasure Hunter, Item Detector, and Adventurous Wayfarer. Castle Hein, the Wrecked Ship, and Doga’s Grotto are one-time dungeons; miss a chest, enemy, or hidden item inside any of them and it’s gone for good. The Living Woods location seals after Castle Hein, and two SW Saronia hidden items only appear while Prince Alus is in the party. The missables guide lists every cutoff in one place.

Roadmap

Follow the walkthrough end to end and sweep every missable as it appears. The four missable Golds:

  • Field Research - Professional: 20 missable bestiary entries across Castle Hein, Doga’s Grotto, and both sea routes.
  • Legendary Treasure Hunter: 19 missable chests across Hein, the Wrecked Ship, and Doga’s Grotto.
  • Item Detector: the Mini scroll in Hein, plus Dragon Mail and Wind Spear in SW Saronia while Alus is around.
  • Adventurous Wayfarer: the Living Woods before Castle Hein, plus all 13 Chocobo Woods.

Lock one job per character on day one so Management Laborer (Lv99) progresses passively. Summon Master finishes after the optional Odin, Leviathan, and Bahamut fights, and Moneybags usually caps at the Ancient Ruins divides post-credits.

Progress Trophies

Four Gold-heavy trophies that need active tracking the entire run. Adventurous Wayfarer and Item Detector are missable; Forbidden Weapons and Summon Master are optional content you have to seek out.

Forbidden Weapons
Forbidden Weapons
Obtained all weapons sealed in Eureka.
Eureka is an optional dungeon accessed through a mirror north of the Crystal Tower entrance. Each weapon is guarded by a boss: Moonring Blade (B4, Amon), Masamune (B5, Kunoichi), Excalibur (B6, General), Elder Staff (B7, Scylla), Ragnarok (B7, Guardian). Grab all 5 before ascending the Crystal Tower.
Adventurous Wayfarer
Adventurous Wayfarer
Traveled to all the map locations.
Missable. Visited locations show as yellow dots; cast Sight (100 gil at Village of the Ancients) to see locked-out greys. The Living Woods on the western Floating Continent seals after Castle Hein and the auto-visit during the story doesn't count, so go back before finishing the dungeon. You also need all 13 Chocobo Woods.
Item Detector
Item Detector
Obtained all hidden items.
Missable. Three are permanently lost if missed: the Mini spell from a soldier in your starting cell in Castle Hein, plus the Dragoon Mail and Wind Spear from two NPCs in SW Saronia while Prince Alus is in the party. The world map's per-location item count is a useful checklist but not 100% accurate (some key items inflate the number).
Summon Master
Summon Master
Learned all summon magic.
Buy 5 summons from shops (Escape 100g, Icen 700g, Spark 1500g, Heatra 3000g, Hyper 5000g, all at Replito or Doga's Village) and earn 3 from optional bosses (Catastro from Odin in Saronia Catacombs, Leviath from Leviathan at Lake Dohr, Bahamur from Bahamut in Bahamut's Lair). Equip all 8 on one character (Evoker, Summoner, or Sage) to trigger.

Job Level Trophies

Job levels go up only when a character takes an action in battle. You can earn at most one job level per fight, so reaching Lv99 takes at minimum 99 battles. Use Defend to guarantee job EXP in trash fights; it takes priority and counts as a turn.

Job Trainee
Job Trainee
Leveled up one job to level 10.
Comes naturally with any consistent job choice in the early game.
Senior Worker
Senior Worker
Leveled up one job to level 50.
Stick with one job per character for the bulk of the game; Lv50 usually pops by mid-Underworld.
Management Laborer
Management Laborer
Leveled up one job to level 99.
Minimum 99 battles since job EXP caps at one level per fight. Find a spot with weak solo enemies, have everyone Defend, kill the enemy, repeat. Some jobs (Bard) unlock abilities at specific job levels, so there's secondary value.

Combat Trophies

Kill counts come through normal play. If you fight every encounter and don’t flee, 500 kills will pop well before the final dungeon. Seasoned Hero requires all 4 characters past Lv50; the recommended level for the Cloud of Darkness is 60+ anyway.

Apprentice Warrior
Apprentice Warrior
Defeated 100 monsters.
Comes naturally through the walkthrough.
Experienced Warrior
Experienced Warrior
Defeated 300 monsters.
Comes naturally through the walkthrough.
Legendary Warrior
Legendary Warrior
Defeated 500 monsters.
Should come through normal play. Light grinding in the Ancient Ruins or Crystal Tower if you're short.
Seasoned Hero
Seasoned Hero
Reached level 50 for all party members.
Aim for level 60+ before the Cloud of Darkness. Grind dividing enemies in the Ancient Ruins if any character is behind.

Bestiary Trophies

225 entries total. Check progress under Config → Bestiary; enemies must be defeated to register, not just encountered. The single exception is Nepto Dragon (#198), which counts on encounter alone.

The bestiary page flags every missable enemy with an amber badge.

Field Research - Basic
Field Research - Basic
Completed 10% of the Bestiary entries.
Pops around Dragon's Peak; comes naturally.
Field Research - Advanced
Field Research - Advanced
Completed 50% of the Bestiary entries.
Pops around when you get the Nautilus airship if you're following the walkthrough.
Field Research - Professional
Field Research - Professional
Completed 100% of the Bestiary entries.
Missable. The Castle Hein, Doga's Grotto, and sea-encounter enemies must be cleared in their windows. Verify in Config → Bestiary before each major story beat.

Treasure Trophies

367 chests total, with three temporary dungeons that lock their chests permanently. Open every chest in Castle Hein (11), the Wrecked Ship (2, disappears after the Cave of Tides), and Doga’s Grotto (6) before story progression seals them. Everything else stays accessible up to the point of no return at Xande’s mirror.

Rookie Treasure Hunter
Rookie Treasure Hunter
Collected treasure from 10% of the chests.
Pops around the Sealed Cave; comes naturally.
Veteran Treasure Hunter
Veteran Treasure Hunter
Collected treasure from 50% of the chests.
Missable. Comes naturally if you're checking floors for chests as you clear dungeons.
Legendary Treasure Hunter
Legendary Treasure Hunter
Collected treasure from 100% of the chests.
Missable. Castle Hein (11), Wrecked Ship (2), Doga's Grotto (6) all need clearing in their single visits. The final chest is usually a Ribbon in the World of Darkness, just before the Ahriman fight.

Gil Trophies

These trophies track total Gil earned, not current balance. Spend freely; lifetime earnings are what’s tracked.

Thrifty Spender
Thrifty Spender
Obtained 10,000 gil.
Cumulative. Pops by Castle Hein at the latest.
Smart Saver
Smart Saver
Obtained 100,000 gil.
Cumulative. Pops between Castle Argus and Amur with normal selling.
Moneybags
Moneybags
Obtained 500,000 gil.
Cumulative. The largest gil requirement in the Pixel Remaster trilogy. Grind the Ancient Ruins dividing enemies if short; let them multiply, then pick them off. The 4x Gil multiplier stacks with this method.

Platinum

Master of III
Master of III
Earned all trophies.
Earn every other trophy. The last one standing is usually Management Laborer or Moneybags.
