PSN trophies. Boost settings (4x EXP, 4x Gil, encounters) don't void any of them.
31 trophies total. Most pop through normal play, but FF3 has more permanently missable content than FF1 or FF2. Several dungeons (Castle Hein, the Wrecked Ship, Doga's Grotto) can only be visited once; miss a chest, enemy, or hidden item inside and it's gone for good. The walkthrough flags every missable, but the short version is below.
Overview
Step 1: Play through the story. Follow the walkthrough from start to finish. Four trophies demand constant attention the entire game:
- Field Research - Professional (all 225 bestiary entries). Castle Hein entries 66-70, Doga's Grotto entries 156-159, Nepto Dragon (#198), and sea enemies 31-35, 71-74, 112 are all missable
- Legendary Treasure Hunter (all 367 chests). Castle Hein has 11, the Wrecked Ship has 2, and Doga's Grotto has 6. All one-time dungeons
- Item Detector (all 61 hidden items). 3 are permanently missable: the Mini spell in Castle Hein, and 2 Dragoon pieces in Saronia while Prince Alus is in the party
- Adventurous Wayfarer (all map locations). The Living Woods on the western Floating Continent seals off after Castle Hein. Don't forget all 13 Chocobo Woods either
Pick one job and keep it on one character for the entire game. White Mage works well since you'll want the healing anyway, and every battle counts toward Management Laborer (job level 99).
Step 2: Cleanup. A few trophies might still be outstanding after the credits:
- Summon Master: buy missing summons from Replito or Doga's Village, then equip all 8 on one character
- Management Laborer: grind one job to level 99 if you haven't hit it already. Use Defend in weak encounters; you can only gain one job level per battle, so this takes a minimum of 99 fights
- Moneybags: 500,000 gil cumulative. Head to the Ancient Ruins and farm dividing enemies if you're short

Progress Trophies
| Type | Trophy | How to Unlock |
|---|---|---|
| Forbidden Weapons | Obtained all 5 weapons sealed in Eureka — defeat each guardian boss | |
| Adventurous Wayfarer | MISSABLE — Visited all map locations including Living Woods and 13 Chocobo Woods | |
| Item Detector | MISSABLE — Found all 61 hidden items, 3 are permanently missable | |
| Summon Master | Learned all 8 summons — equip all on one character to unlock |
Adventurous Wayfarer (All Map Locations)
Visit every location on the map. Visited locations show as yellow dots on the world map; cast Sight (100 gil at Village of the Ancients) to see locked-out locations as grey dots. The only truly missable location is the Living Woods on the western Floating Continent. The Elder Tree seals it off permanently after you complete Castle Hein. The visit you make during the story doesn't count, so go back before finishing the dungeon.
You also need all 13 Chocobo Woods. They're optional and easy to overlook since they aren't required for anything else.
Item Detector (All 61 Hidden Items)
61 hidden items total, spread across towns and dungeons. They don't appear on the minimap. The world map has a separate "Items" count per location (though it's not 100% accurate since some key items inflate the number).
Hidden item counts by location: Ur (6), Kazus (5), Canaan (3), Tozus (4), Gulgan Gulch (1), Dwarven Hollows (1), Castle Hein (1), Tokkul (5), Castle Argus (1), Village of Ancients (1), Gysahl (5), Amur (7), Duster (2), Replito (4), SW Saronia (2), NE Saronia (1), Doga's Manor (1), Falgabard (5), Cave of Shadows (1), Eureka (5).
Forbidden Weapons (All 5 Eureka Weapons)
The Forbidden Land of Eureka is an optional dungeon accessible through a mirror north of the Crystal Tower entrance. Each sealed weapon is guarded by a boss. Grab all 5 before ascending the tower (they also count as hidden items for Item Detector):
- Moonring Blade (B4) from Amon
- Masamune (B5) from Kunoichi
- Excalibur (B6) from General
- Elder Staff (B7) from Scylla
- Ragnarok (B7) from Guardian
Summon Master (All 8 Summons)
Buy 5 summons from shops and earn 3 by defeating optional bosses. Once you have all 8, equip them on a single character (Evoker, Summoner, or Sage) to trigger the trophy. If it doesn't pop immediately, complete a random encounter with all 8 equipped.
- Escape (Chocobo): Replito or Doga's Village, 100 gil
- Icen (Shiva): Replito or Doga's Village, 700 gil
- Spark (Ramuh): Replito or Doga's Village, 1,500 gil
- Heatra (Ifrit): Replito or Doga's Village, 3,000 gil
- Hyper (Titan): Replito or Doga's Village, 5,000 gil
- Catastro (Odin): defeat Odin in Saronia Catacombs
- Leviath (Leviathan): defeat Leviathan at Lake Dohr
- Bahamur (Bahamut): defeat Bahamut in Bahamut's Lair
Job Level Trophies
Job levels go up when a character performs an action in battle. If a character doesn't get a turn (because someone else killed everything first), they earn nothing. You can only gain one job level per battle, so level 99 takes at least 99 fights.
Use Defend to guarantee job EXP even when attacking isn't useful; it takes priority over other actions and counts as an action. In practice: find a spot with weak solo enemies, have everyone Defend, auto-battle for 5 turns, kill the enemy, repeat. Some jobs (like Bard) unlock abilities at specific job levels, so there's an incentive beyond the trophy.
| Type | Trophy | How to Unlock |
|---|---|---|
| Job Trainee | Leveled up one job to level 10 — unlocks naturally | |
| Senior Worker | Leveled up one job to level 50 — stick with one job per character | |
| Management Laborer | Leveled up one job to level 99 — minimum 99 battles, one level per fight |
Combat Trophies
Kill counts come through normal play. If you fight every encounter and don't flee, 500 kills should happen well before the final dungeon. For Seasoned Hero, the recommended level for the Cloud of Darkness is 60+, so all 4 characters should pass level 50 on the way there. If you're behind, grind at the Ancient Ruins against enemies that infinitely divide; let them multiply, then pick them off for high EXP. The 4x EXP multiplier stacks with this.
| Type | Trophy | How to Unlock |
|---|---|---|
| Apprentice Warrior | Defeated 100 monsters — unlocks naturally | |
| Experienced Warrior | Defeated 300 monsters — unlocks naturally | |
| Legendary Warrior | Defeated 500 monsters — should come through normal play | |
| Seasoned Hero | Reached level 50 for all party members — aim for 60+ before Cloud of Darkness |
Bestiary Trophies (225 Enemies)
Check your progress under Config; enemies must be defeated to register, not just encountered. The one exception is Nepto Dragon (entry #198), which counts on encounter alone.
| Type | Trophy | How to Unlock |
|---|---|---|
| Field Research - Basic | Completed 10% of the bestiary (23 enemies) — unlocks around Dragon's Peak | |
| Field Research - Advanced | Completed 50% of the bestiary (113 enemies) — around when you get the Nautilus | |
| Field Research - Professional | MISSABLE — Completed 100% of the bestiary (all 225 enemies) |
Treasure Trophies (367 Chests)
Use the minimap to spot chests on each floor and the world map to check your count per location. Most dungeons stay accessible, but three don't:
- Castle Hein: 11 chests, one-time dungeon
- Wrecked Ship: 2 chests next to Aria, disappears after Cave of Tides
- Doga's Grotto: 6 chests, permanently locked after defeating its bosses
Everything else can be collected before the point of no return (fighting Xande). The final chest for the trophy is typically a Ribbon in the World of Darkness, just before the Ahriman fight.
| Type | Trophy | How to Unlock |
|---|---|---|
| Rookie Treasure Hunter | Collected treasure from 10% of chests — unlocks in the Sealed Cave | |
| Veteran Treasure Hunter | MISSABLE — Collected treasure from 50% of chests | |
| Legendary Treasure Hunter | MISSABLE — Collected treasure from 100% of chests (all 367) |
Gil Trophies
Cumulative, not current balance. Spend freely on equipment and summons throughout the game. The 500,000 for Moneybags is the largest requirement in the Pixel Remaster trilogy; if you're short after clearing the story, head to the Ancient Ruins and farm the dividing enemies. Let them multiply, kill the clones, repeat. The 4x Gil multiplier stacks with this method.
| Type | Trophy | How to Unlock |
|---|---|---|
| Thrifty Spender | Obtained 10,000 gil — unlocks by Castle Hein at the latest | |
| Smart Saver | Obtained 100,000 gil — unlocks between Castle Argus and Amur | |
| Moneybags | Obtained 500,000 gil (cumulative) — grind Ancient Ruins if short |
Platinum
Master of III pops once every other trophy is earned. The last one standing is usually Management Laborer or Moneybags.
