Key Terms - Final Fantasy 2
Final Fantasy 2 Pixel Remaster uses Key Terms (the keyword system) instead of a quest log. NPCs speak key words in red text, your party learns them automatically, and you can ask other NPCs about them to unlock new dialogue and story triggers.
To use one, open the menu, select a party member, then Ask and pick a Key Term. The NPC responds if they have something to say; wrong guesses don’t punish, so experiment freely. Most Key Terms come from Hilda at rebel HQ in Altair, with a few from Gordon, Cid, and the King of Kashuan. The walkthrough covers the exact moment each one becomes available.
