FF2 has more missable content than any other Pixel Remaster. Four dungeons are destroyed after completion, one location disappears permanently, and several bestiary enemies only appear during specific story windows. This guide covers everything you can permanently lose.
One-Time Dungeons
These four dungeons are destroyed or become inaccessible after story events. All chests inside are permanently missable.
| Dungeon | Chests | Chapter |
|---|---|---|
| Dreadnought | 10 | Dreadnought |
| Leviathan | 5 | Leviathan |
| Cyclone | 7 | Cyclone |
| Castle Palamecia | 17 | Castle Palamecia |
Other Missable Chests
These chests aren't in one-time dungeons but still become inaccessible at certain story points.
| Location | Chests | Cutoff |
|---|---|---|
| Paul's House (Fynn) | 8 | Entering Cyclone |
| Altair Rebel Hideout | 1 | Completing Mysidian Tower |
Missable Location
The Rebel Camp is the only permanently missable location in FF2. It disappears forever once you begin the assault on Castle Fynn. Visit it after the Coliseum to add it to your location log.
Missable Passwords
Four passwords can be permanently missed if you don't learn them before certain story triggers.
| Password | Learn From | Cutoff Point |
|---|---|---|
| Dragoons | Gordon | Completing Deist Cavern |
| Ultima Tome | Gordon | Getting White Mask from Castle Fynn |
| Cyclone | Hilda | Using Pendant on mirror in Castle Fynn |
| Palamecia | Hilda | Completing Castle Palamecia |

These enemies only appear during specific story windows and cannot be encountered later.
