Minigames Guide - All Activities

Chrono Trigger has several minigames scattered across different eras. Some are one-time story events; others you can replay for rewards. This page covers all of them, with links to detailed guides for the bigger ones. See the walkthrough for when each becomes available.

Millennial Fair (1000 A.D.)

The fair at Leene Square has multiple attractions that award Silver Points - a currency you'll spend at Norstein Bekkler's tent for prizes. The critical one is the Doppel Doll, which you need to resurrect Crono later. Five games total: Gato Fight, Foot Race, Hammer Challenge, Guzzling Contest, and Bekkler's three tent games.

Jetbike Race (2300 A.D.)

Race Johnny through Site 32 in the ruined future. This minigame opens during Beyond the Ruins and stays available afterward. Getting good scores unlocks consumables and a Strength Capsule - one of the few permanent stat boosts in the game.

The race itself is trickier than it looks. You'll need to bump Johnny repeatedly to maintain your lead; just accelerating won't cut it. Mode 2 (unlocked with the Race Log) lets you rotate the camera, which makes blocking much easier.

Ayla's Drinking Contest (65M B.C.)

During your first visit to Ioka Village, Ayla challenges you to a drinking contest. Mash the button to keep up with her. Win and she gives you the Dreamstone you need to repair the Masamune.

You can't actually lose this. Even if Ayla drinks you under the table, she still gives you the Dreamstone - she just mocks you first. But winning feels better, and the scene's different.

Arena of Ages (End of Time)

A monster-raising and battling minigame at the End of Time. You capture monsters, train them in different eras, and pit them against other creatures. The monsters evolve based on where you send them and what items you feed them.

It's optional and has no impact on the main story, but the exclusive equipment rewards are solid. If you're playing the DS version, it's worth checking out.
