Gaia, Onrac and the Waterfall Cavern
With your classes all upgraded, the story continues. This chapter has 1 new bestiary entry and 6 chests to collect. Board your Airship and fly northeast to the far right corner of the map. Land on the grass near the mountains and enter Gaia.
Gaia
Shops
Gaia is a quick pit stop to pick up new spells. There are Level 7 and 8 spells here, the strongest in the game.
In terms of gear, there’s little worth buying. Grab Curaja, Diaja, NulAll, and Holy for your White Wizard. You’ll want Blizzaga for your Black Wizard. Exit Gaia and board your Airship when you’re ready.
The Desert Caravan and Oxyale
Fly east until you reach the northwest continent and land your Airship south of the desert, between two patches of forest.
Walk north to the top of the desert until you see a small forest with a desert patch on its left. Step into the patch. The trader here will sell you a Bottled Faerie for 40,000 Gil.
Fly back to Gaia. A cutscene plays as you enter town. Follow the path to the pond in the northeast of town.
Talk to the Faerie at the pond and she hands over the Oxyale, which lets your party breathe underwater.
Onrac sits on the same continent, so land in the same spot as for the Faerie and walk northeast instead.
Onrac
Shops
Onrac is a small town with magic and item shops. Healaga is a priority; buy the rest if you have the Gil.
Leave Onrac and take the canoe west into the river. Paddle straight north into the waterfall to enter.
Waterfall Cavern
There are 6 chests in here. Head all the way west, then south to the single room.
A pack of monsters guards the room. Once you beat them, loot all the chests and then speak with the robot. He’ll give you the Warp Cube, something we’ll need later. Green Dragons spawn here too, but they appear far more reliably in the past Chaos Shrine endgame so you can skip the bestiary registration for now.
Back to Onrac
Canoe back to Onrac and go to the southeast corner of town where a Mermaid waits on the dock. Show her the Oxyale and she lets you board the barrel to the Sunken Shrine. Stock up on healing items before going down; the shrine is a long dungeon.
