Enemy list
The Rosetta Stone from the Sunken Shrine lets you learn the ancient Lufenian language. Time to visit Dr. Unne, stock up on the game's strongest spells, and grab the Chime for Mirage Tower.
Back to Melmond
Fly to Melmond. Find Dr. Unne, the scholar in the southwest part of town who's been studying ancient languages. Show him the Rosetta Stone and he teaches your party the Lufenian tongue.

Lufenia
Now that you speak Lufenian, fly to the northeastern continent. Land on the grass patch east of the desert (south of Gaia) and walk south through the forest to reach the hidden city of Lufenia.
The Lufenians are descendants of a sky civilization that built the Flying Fortress. Talk to them for lore about Tiamat and the prophecy of the Warriors of Light.

The magic shops are outside the main town walls; take the hidden path in the far east corner. These sell Level 8 spells (the strongest in the game) for 40,000 Gil each:
- Full-Life (White Magic) - Revives a KO'd ally at full HP. Essential for the final dungeon.
- Flare (Black Magic) - Non-elemental damage that ignores all resistances. Your best damage spell against bosses.
Full-Life and Flare are must-haves; you'll use both constantly in the final dungeon. Holy is useful if you have the Gil. You should already have it from Gaia.
The Chime
Head to the southwest corner of town and find the Lufenian standing on the eastern dock. He recognizes your party as the Warriors of Light and gives you the Chime, which opens the sealed entrance to Mirage Tower.

Exit the town and board your Airship. Next stop: Mirage Tower.
