Southern Alefgard
The far south holds Cantlin — the last town, with the best equipment. A Golem guards the entrance. The region also hides Erdrick's Token, which you need to prove your ancestry at the southern shrine. This is endgame territory.
Enemies
The strongest overworld enemies in the game. Knights, Demon Knights, Werewolves, Magiwyverns, Starwyverns, Wizards, Green Dragons, and Metal Slimes. Starwyverns breathe fire and cast Healmore — use Stopspell or fights drag forever. Wizards cast Hurtmore for 50+ damage. Green Dragons have 65 HP and hit hard.
You need level 17+ with Healmore to survive here reliably. Flame Sword and Silver Shield from Cantlin help immensely. If you have 10,000-15,000G saved up, you can make a mad dash to Cantlin early — run from everything, heal constantly, and bring the Fairy Flute for the Golem.
The Golem
A Golem blocks Cantlin's entrance. It has 70 HP and hits for 30-40 damage. You can fight it straight up if you're level 15+ with good gear. Or use the Fairy Flute — play it in battle and the Golem falls asleep, giving you free attacks. Much easier.

The inn costs 100G — the most expensive in Alefgard. Many doors are locked; bring keys. NPCs mention Erdrick's Sword in Charlock Castle, proof of ancestry, and the ruined shop in Hauksness where Erdrick's Armor is buried.
Priority: Flame Sword first, then Silver Shield. Together they cost 24,600G. Farm Goldmen south of Rimuldar or grind Metal Slimes until you can afford both.
Rescuing Princess Gwaelin
Remember the Green Dragon in the Swamp Cave? Now you're strong enough to kill it. Return to the cave with Healmore (level 17) and fight. The dragon has 65 HP. Behind the locked door past it, you'll find Princess Gwaelin.
Carry her back to King Lorik. He rewards you with Gwaelin's Love — an item that shows your exact distance from Tantegel Castle and your EXP to next level. You need this to find Erdrick's Token.
Erdrick's Token
A man in Cantlin (behind barrier tiles) says the token is hidden 70 steps south and 40 steps east of Tantegel. Use Gwaelin's Love to track your position. When you're at exactly 70 south, 40 east, search the ground.
Take Erdrick's Token to the southern temple (south of Rimuldar). Show it to the old man inside. He'll recognize you as Erdrick's descendant and give you the Rainbow Drop. You now have everything needed to reach Charlock Castle.
