Galuf's World & Big Bridge
After the Meteorites & Departure warp, the chapter takes the party through Galuf’s World via the Deserted Island, Castle Exdeath, and the Big Bridge. 13 new bestiary entries, two Gilgamesh fights, and a key Blue Magic farming stop on the Castle Exdeath plains.
Deserted Island
The party arrives on a small island. Walk a few steps to trigger a random encounter.
New Enemies
- Pao drops a Tent. It Flees often, so chase one down before it escapes for the bestiary kill plus a free Tent.
Head north into the forest and save at the entrance. Step inside and answer Yes when prompted to set up camp. A cutscene plays during the night and leads into a boss fight.
How to Beat Abductor
After the win, open the chest of gas to trigger the next cutscene.
Castle Exdeath
Bartz wakes in a prison cell inside Castle Exdeath. Lenna and Faris are already there. Galuf shows up separately to break them out, and the player takes control of Galuf for the rescue run.
The rescue route is a short escape sequence. The full walkthrough is in the video; written directions follow.
New Enemies (*Missable)
- Tarantula is fragile and casts Web (Slow status). Weak to Ice, absorbs Poison.
- Shell Bear has slightly more HP. No weaknesses or resistances of note.
Both are missable once the chapter ends. Kill at least one of each for the bestiary before continuing.
The rescue path is linear. From the starting room, take the western stairs down to B1, head east and down to B2, then northwest and down to B3. Heal up and quick-save in the B3 hallway before the next boss fight.
How to Beat Gilgamesh (Castle Exdeath)
This is the introductory Gilgamesh fight. He talks more than he hits.
After the win, the party reunites. Head back up to 1F. North of the main hall is a room with a spring that fully restores HP, MP, and status, and revives KO’d party members for free. Stop in if anyone needs cleanup, then return to the main hall and exit through the south door.
Castle Exdeath overworld
The plains around Castle Exdeath are a great Blue Magic farming stop, especially for Death Claw.
New Enemies
- Devilfish spawns on plains and the brown marsh tiles. Carries Transfusion as a repeat learn opportunity.
- Treant spawns on plains and forest tiles. Casts Death Claw naturally, but Control doesn’t expose the spell.
- Strapparer spawns on plains. Carries both Death Claw and a repeat Dark Spark, both reachable through Control.
Once Death Claw is in the book, head northwest from the castle and enter the bridge.
Big Bridge
The Big Bridge is a linear corridor. No chests, no exploration, just forced encounters and a Gilgamesh rematch at the north end.
New Enemies (*Missable)
- Merrow is the most common spawn. Weak to Lightning, absorbs Water.
- Flying Killer is the second spawn. No weaknesses to exploit.
- Little Chariot appears less often. Weak to Lightning.
- Neo Garula is the rare spawn and the toughest fight. Absorbs Lightning, so swap to physicals or Fire for it.
When all four are logged, head all the way north to trigger the boss fight.
How to Beat Gilgamesh (Big Bridge)
The famous version of the song plays during this fight. The fight itself is a stat-check upgrade over the Castle Exdeath encounter.
After the win, walk all the way north to trigger the next cutscene. The next chapter picks up from there.
