Jobs - Final Fantasy 5


There are 22 jobs in Final Fantasy 5 Pixel Remaster. The party starts with no jobs unlocked and earns them across four crystal shatters in Bartz’s World, plus one secret class found in the endgame Cleft of Dimension.

Key mechanics:

  • Job Level is tracked per character per job, separate from the character’s main level. It maxes at 7 for most jobs (some only 2 or 4) and gates which abilities the job has earned.
  • ABP (Ability Points) drop from enemies and feed Job Level. The ABP listed below is the delta for that level - to reach level N you spend that row’s ABP on top of everything earned through level N-1.
  • Abilities prefixed with ! are active commands; the rest are passive. Once a passive is learned by any character, any job on any character can equip it as their “free slot”.
  • Commands without a level prefix on the paste are innate to the job from the start; the table shows what each Job Level unlocks beyond that.
  • Mastery (learning every ability) grants the job’s full stat bonus to Freelancers and Mimics on that character. Mastering all 22 jobs unlocks Master of Light.

The Freelancer and Mime are special. Both can set 2-3 abilities instead of 1 and inherit every learned passive automatically. The Freelancer also matches the highest stat tier from each mastered job; the Mime trades the Attack command for !Mimic, which repeats an ally’s previous action for zero MP or item cost.
